When you are losing your MLB betting on the team you are cheering for, you know what is going to happen. They need a prospect! A new guys that can turn the game upside down. Of course, not all prospects successfully does that, but here are some of the fastest rising MLB prospects that I am sure would be able to immediately help their major league clubs. Take note of them because they can definitely pull their team’s ranking up.

Drew Smyly, Detroit Tigers Although Drew Smyly is one of those guys who had been overlooked. In his four major league starts, Smyly has been impressive. He has posted a 1-0 record along with a 1.23 ERA and 22 Ks in 22 innings pitched. Two of those starts were against the formidable New York Yankees and the juggernaut Texas Rangers, which makes his numbers even more impressive. Although four starts is not enough to make a judgement on Smyly's future, he looks like he will continue to take the majors by storm for the time being.

Jarrod Parker, Oakland Athletics Jarrod Parker of the Oakland Athletics is another guy who has made several starts at the major league level and seems poised to surprise a lot of teams with his pitching ability. Over two starts for the Athletics, Parker has gone 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA and nine strikeouts. Last year in the minors, he went 11-8 with a 3.79 ERA along with 112 strikeouts. With the Athletics thin in the rotation after trading Gio Gonzalez in the offseason, Parker will get an extended shot to stick in the majors this season. If he continues to pitch the way he has so far, he may just establish himself as a solid starter in the big leagues.

Scott Van Slyke, Los Angeles Dodgers If the Los Angeles Dodgers don't turn to Alex Castellanos for offensive help, they could turn to Scott Van Slyke. Van Slyke, the son of former MLB player Andy Van Slyke, would be able to help the Dodgers in the outfield and at first base. After being named the organizational player of the year last season, Van Slyke has gotten off to a great start in 2012. He is currently hitting .340 with six home runs and 19 RBI. He has struck out 15 times compared to 11 walks and has an on-base percentage of .400. At 6'5" and 250 pounds, Van Slyke has the physical makeup to be a legitimate middle-of-the-order power threat at the next level. This is one thing that I’ve been waiting for my MLB betting to happen.

Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels Once the Los Angeles Angels released outfielder Bobby Abreu, the call-up of the 20-year-old Mike Trout was not far behind. All Trout did at Triple-A before being called up was hit .403 with one home run, 13 RBI and six stolen bases. The sky is the limit for the young prospect and he should stay with the major league club for the remainder of the 2012 season and have a chance to show what he can do against major league pitching. He certainly has all the tools necessary to succeed.

Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals Bryce Harper was one of the most highly sought-after players in the MLB draft in recent memory. The Washington Nationals made him their No. 1 pick in 2010 and the hype surrounding him has not let up at all. At only 19 years old, Harper is the youngest player in the MLB and he already looks like he belongs. Whether he is throwing line drives to home plate from the outfield or driving the ball at the plate, Harper has All-Star written all over him. Before being called up, Harper was only hitting .250 with one home run, three RBI and one stolen base. Since being called up, he has hit .385 with three doubles, an RBI and two runs scored. He has also shown off the cannon he has for an arm several times.

One month of MLB action had passed. And the baseball world goes crazy as April provided baseball fans with its fair share of great performances. From Philip Humber's perfect game to the dominance of Matt Kemp, there were plenty of reasons why MLB is still America’s favorite past time. Not every team enjoyed April, however. Several teams that were expected to contend for the playoffs got off to slow starts, meaning they will have to dig out of a hold to make the postseason. But wait! Don’t count them out yet in your MLB betting list. The battle had just started. Here are three teams that I’m sure will going to catch up this May and June.

Boston Red Sox

The first month for Boston can be summed up by blowing a nine-run lead against the rival New York Yankees. A combination of bad luck, injuries and a tough schedule exposed the Red Sox's weaknesses. So they currently sit in the AL East basement, 4.5 games behind at 11-12. The Red Sox have too much talent to stay there for much longer, however. The team's offense hasn't been a problem, ranking second in runs scored. Pitching has been a different story as Boston has given up the most runs in the league. It's not a lack of starting pitching talent that's holding them back. Jon Lester, Josh Beckett and Daniel Bard give them three solid options. Lester and Beckett should turn things around soon, and everything else, including the bullpen, should fall into place.

Los Angeles Angels

The Angels sit six games below .500 so far at 9-15, proving money doesn't automatically buy wins. At least not in the season's opening month. Albert Pujols hasn't hit a home run and his on-base percentage is more than 160 points below his career average. It's more than just Pujols holding the Angels back. Erick Aybar, Howard Kendrick and Vernon Wells have all struggled to live up to expectations. Recent call-up Mike Trout—an elite prospect—has yet to provide a spark, either. Los Angeles' pitching staff has been doing some adjustment on it now. All four starters other than Ervin Santana have pitched really well and should continue to do so. Once the offense wakes up—and there's no reason it shouldn't—the Angels will start racking up wins.

Milwaukee Brewers

Most people expected the Brewers to take a step back after losing Prince Fielder during the offseason, but Milwaukee really struggled in April and already sits 4.5 games out in the NL Central. The Brewers have too much depth to fade away that quickly. The starting rotation, which was supposed to carry the team on its back, hasn't been able to do so. The biggest reason is Yovani Gallardo. He's been terrific in each of the past three seasons, but has a 6.08 ERA through five starts. He will improve and the team's rock-solid bullpen should strengthen too. Even though they probably need to make a deadline deal for a hitter to make the playoffs, the Brewers should start winning more consistently soon.

So don’t count these three teams yet on your MLB betting. They are definitely going to come back in the game. In fact, I’m on my way now to do MLB betting on some of them!

You know those great hot starters? Yes right. Those hot starters which once in your life, fooled you to put all your MLB betting on their team because they look like they are really good and will make you win huge money. Each MLB season has it. And today, I’m going to list out some of the hot starters today on MLB 2012. I didn’t tell you not to bet on them. I’m just telling you I’m not buying it and doubt that it will last. Here are they:

Edwin Encarnacion, DH, Toronto Blue Jays Edwin Encarnacion has been on fire this season, as he finds himself sitting on nine home runs and a .931 OPS, after hitting a total of 17 home runs with a .787 OPS last year. Not surprisingly, Encarnacion has cooled off in May. He has two hits so far this month, and has gone hitless in each of Toronto's last four games.

This is just the beginning of Encarnacion's cool-down. The fact of the matter is that he was putting up numbers that weren't sustainable, and they still look that way.

Bronson Arroyo, SP, Cincinnati Reds Bronson Arroyo was historically bad last season. This year, Arroyo looks completely refreshed, and he's been mowing hitters down on a regular basis. A little too regular, I think. After his win on Monday against the Brewers, Arroyo has his ERA down to 2.75 and his WHIP down to 1.17. He's helped himself by upping his strikeout rate this season, and decreasing his BB/9 to a razor-thin 0.92. Arroyo, however, remains hittable. Opponents are hitting him at a .275 clip this season, which isn't far off from the .286 clip they hit him at last season, and it's actually par for the course for hitters against Arroyo ever since the beginning of the 2007 season.

This suggests his early-season success is not sustainable. So does his 3.73 xFIP, which will likely climb into the 4.00s before long (also par for the course for Arroyo). He may not be historically bad again, but he's not this good. Wei-Yin Chen, SP, Baltimore Orioles

The quality of Baltimore's starting pitching has been a huge surprise all season, and Wei-Yin Chen has had a lot to do with it. He boasts a 2-0 record in five starts, with a 2.76 ERA. His ERA may be 2.76, but his xFIP is 4.57, one of the highest marks in the league among qualified pitchers. That's a huge gap, and it's hard to imagine Chen maintaining it as long as he maintains a ground-ball percentage of 35.2. More and more hits are going to start coming.

There are a couple of things that have helped Chen get out to a hot start. He has unfamiliarity working for him, and his two best starts came against two weak-hitting clubs in the Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics. Expect Chen's numbers to level out as the season moves along and hitters get a grasp on his stuff.

Ted Lilly, SP, Los Angeles Dodgers It's somewhat under the radar, but Ted Lilly is having an outstanding season for the Dodgers. Following his win against the San Francisco Giants on Monday, he has a 4-0 record with a 1.41 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP. The thing about Lilly is that he's enjoying a lot of success despite the fact he has a 5.91 K/9 and a 3.09 BB/9. He typically does a lot better than this throughout the course of a full season. In fact, these numbers qualify as being a little concerning. Lilly's xFIP of 4.40 is just about three full runs higher than his ERA. Expect him to level out in a big way going forward.

Bryan LaHair, 1B, Chicago Cubs Bryan LaHair enters Tuesday with video game numbers. His batting line stands at .388/.479/.800, and he's among the league leaders in a lot of offensive categories. LaHair leads the league in one category by quite a wide margin. His BABIP is .535. The next-closest guy on the list is at .457.

I can see him having a good season, but he's way too hot right now. His luck will run out, and pitchers will also figure out how to exploit his weaknesses. It's certainly worth noting that LaHair hasn't been in the big leagues all that long, so a lot of pitchers don't really know how to pitch him yet. That will change.

Believe me! Don’t put all your MLB betting on a team just because of these hot starters. I know it’s wrong to judge a person and I should just thank them and honor them and what they are showing right now. But the truth is, they will definitely going to come back down to earth and end there. And I just want you to take extra cautious on them. Who thinks I am right? Drop me some comment.

One of the reasons why I love MLB betting are the great action it gave me! And the Texas Rangers is one of the teams where they will not give you a boring game. Especially if there is Josh Hamilton, the guys brings out great excitement and never fails to impress. No wonder why there are still a huge fan base for Texas Rangers and still one of the team that leads my MLB betting. Now let’s talk about the man of the hour.

Josh Hamilton is looking for a new contract and doing everything in his power to get it. What better way to grab the attention of the entire baseball world than to smack four home runs? That’s just what he did on Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles, en route to this absurd stat line: 5-for-5, 4 HR, 1 2B, 4 R, 8 RBI, 18 TB

He is the 16th player in MLB history to complete the feat of hitting four dingers, and somehow every single one of Hamilton’s were two-run shots. By some strange coincidence, Elvis Andrus was on base for all four of them. His 18 total bases is an AL record, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Carlos Delgado accomplished the last four-home-run game back in September 2003. To put this incredible feat into perspective, only 16 players have hit four homers in one game, while 21 pitchers have pitched a perfect game.

This historic night is just one example of why Hamilton is the early front-runner for MVP of the American League. Not only does his team sport the best record in the majors, but he also leads the team in virtually every important offensive category.

You pick an offensive category, and Hamilton is leading in it for the Rangers a.k.a the team with the best team batting average in the majors. Hamilton is dominating everything, from batting average (.406), to RBI (36), to homers (14), to OPS (1.298). He now leads the entire American League in those categories as well. Throw in another strong season in the field, and you have the obvious pick for league MVP through the first 30 games of the season.

Remember all of the money Albert Pujols got this offseason? Hamilton was one RBI shy of equaling his entire season’s output in one nine-inning game. Insanity. So should I say throw off Pujols in the den and pay Hamilton the right dollars for him Texas. Hamilton is well on his way to a second-career MVP award. I’m going to bet on the rangers all the way because of him. MLB betting jut got more exciting

More than a month had passed in this year’s MLB season. And at the moment, a lot of surprises had begun. Some are great surprises others are the nightmares of MLB teams. And I’m sure that your MLB betting had turn upside down too. Here's a countdown of the 10 worst nightmares that have become reality this MLB season, ranked in order of how devastating they are. Read on because this will help you decide on your MLB betting picks.

6. Tim Lincecum's Ineffectiveness - By the time the 2009 season came to a close, it was clear that Tim Lincecum was the most dominant pitcher in baseball. He's dropped out since then, and he's been anything but dominant this season. In six starts, he has an ERA of 5.68, and he's walked 17 men in 31.2 innings. He's walked at least four in each of his last three starts

5. Jose Bautista's Ongoing Slump - In the first half of the 2011 season, Jose Bautista was the best hitter in the world. He went into the All-Star break with a batting line of .334/.468/.702, and he had 31 home runs and 65 RBI. Bautista went into a slump after the All-Star break, hitting .257/.419/.477 with 12 home runs and 38 RBI. The good news for the Jays is that it was right around this time of the year in 2010 when Bautista started to explode.

4. Clay Buchholz's Struggles - Buchholz has been awful in his six starts this season, the most recent of which was a 3.2-inning beatdown at the hands of the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday. Buchholz's -0.7 WAR is the worst in the major leagues among qualified pitchers, and it's not close. The next guy on the list is Ervin Santana, and he's at -0.4.

3. Struggles of Miami Marlins' High-Priced Free Agents - The Miami Marlins went all in this offseason, giving out big deals to Jose Reyes, Heath Bell and Mark Buehrle. Buehrle has been fine, as he has an ERA of 2.83 in six starts. He's fifth in the NL with 41.1 innings pitched. He's been everything the Marlins hoped he would be. The same cannot be said of Reyes and Bell, who are combining to make $17 million this season. Reyes is hitting just .234 with a .317 OBP, and Bell has blown four saves and has been demoted as the team's closer.

2. Albert Pujols' Struggles - Albert Pujols finally hit his first home run on Sunday, and a lot of people are theorizing that Pujols may finally get on a roll now that that monkey is off his back. Maybe so, but that doesn't hide the fact that Pujols' first season as an Angel has been an utter disaster. Yes, Pujols homered on Sunday, but that one hit only raised his average to a mere .196. He hasn't had a multi-hit game since April 19. Just as discouraging is the fact that his on-base percentage is now down to .236. Pujols has clearly been pressing this season, and it's been a strange thing to behold. And as he's gone, so have the Angels gone. They're 19th in MLB in runs scored, and they're struggling right along at 13-17 this season.

1. New York Yankees is In Big Trouble – I definitely think many people still have their MLB betting placed in the Yankees. But the Yankees time might be over. Trouble in Starting Rotation: On January 13, 2012, news broke that the Yankees had traded for Michael Pineda and signed Hiroki Kuroda as a free agent.

With those two moves, their starting rotation went from being a weakness to being a strength. Or so it seemed. Pineda has since been ruled out for the season with a torn labrum in his shoulder, and Kuroda has struggled to adapt to life in the American League. He's had some good starts here and there, but he hasn't been as a reliable as he was for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

There are other problems in New York's starting rotation. Ivan Nova has come back down to earth after overachieving in 2011, Phil Hughes has an ERA of 6.67 and Freddy Garcia was bad enough in his starts to get kicked out of the rotation.

Trouble in their Star Player: The Yankees' rotation struggles aren't the only blow the organization has been dealt this season. The baseball gods also decided to punish the Yankees by targeting Mariano Rivera's knee. As you no doubt heard, Rivera tore his right ACL while shagging fly balls during batting practice in Kansas City last week. He's likely out for the year, and his career may be over for good.

You may choose to make you NBA playoffs bet thru your local sportsbook, but it would be a lot easier to do it online. Just make sure that you choose an online sportsbook site that is reputable and trustworthy. Few of my suggestions are the Sportsbook.com, 5Dimes.com, JustBet Sportsbook and Bet365.com. On the other hand, if you choose to bet thru a local sportsbooks, lucky enough if you are residents of United States as some areas don’t have a legalized sportsbooks. Once you have decided on the amount of money to spend and the place where to bet, it’s now time to choose on the type of bets you are going to make. You may either bet on the Money Line, the Point Spread, Prop Bets, Parlays and the Totals. But of course prior, picking up which type of bet, it is very important that you are knowledgeable about the game and the odds given by your sportsbooks. Here’s a glance at the NBA Playoffs Standings- Round 1.

WEST San Antonia Spurs vs. Utah Jazz Leading: SPURS Oklahoma Thunder vs. Dallas Mavericks Leading: THUNDER Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets Leading: LAKERS Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Clippers Leading: CLIPPERS

EAST Chicago Bulls vs. Philadelphia 76ers Leading: BULLS Miami Heat vs. New York Knicks Leading: HEAT Indiana Pacers vs. Orlando Magic Leading: MAGIC Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks Leading: HAWKS

The most commonly used type of bet is the Point Spread. So here’s how it goes: For instance, the weak team (Utah Jazz) is playing a strong team (San Antonio Spurs) meaning the Spurs is favored to win. Let's say they are favored by 8 points. You have two options here: (1) Bet the Spurs and hope they win by more than 8 or (2) bet the Utah Jazz and hope they don't lose by more than 8. If the Spurs win by exactly 10, it's a "push" and you get your money back.

Finally, place your bet by going on the cashier and inform them your bet and the amount you want to bet. Wait until your transaction slip is okay. Keep it after as that indicates your wager. If you win, you will be cashing it in. Alternatively, if you will be making your NBA playoffs betting over the internet, all you have to do is to make your account, click the basketball tab, enter your wager and place bet.

Looks easy, right? Just make sure that you are well-informed about the game and if you are betting online, do shop for the best odds and NBA line. Good Luck!

In fact, there are those who make this activity as an extra income. Many sports bettors choose to place their wager thru the internet. Internet offers us a lot of benefits, and is now considered as a best medium for placing any sports bet.

Among the popular sport games, the NBA basketball is the one they enjoys betting. NBA betting attracts many bettors most especially if it playoffs time. So, if you decided to bet on NBA games then go online now and give NBA betting a try.

Once you make a bet there are different methods you will encounter such as the point spreads, money line method, the totals, parlays and teasers. These methods are use depending on the situation. So, it is very important that you understand this techniques in order to maximize your bet on NBA games and have a larger chance of winning big.

To help you with this article will briefly discuss what these methods are and how you can place bets on NBA games with these methods.

The Pont Spread bet This type of method is the most common type utilized by many bettors. This type of bet is quite complex as compared to any other methods but this can guarantee you to see much more thrills and excitement within the game and inside your bet also. In a basketball game, there is what we called the favorite, and this is the team that is expected to win. On the other hand, the team that is expected to lose is called the underdog. The team expected to win provides, or lays, points to the team expected to lose for betting purposes.

The Totals bet This type of bet is also known as over/ under. Here the oddsmaker will announce the combined score of the two teams and you will have to bet that the winning team will cross over or losing team will probably be below to that total number. In either way if your prediction proves to be true, you win the bet.

The Money Line bet This type of method, probably, is the easiest and simplest type of bet. There is no point spread involved here, all you have to do is to bet on who you think will win the game. If your chosen team wins, you will also win your bets.

The Parlays and Teasers This type of method is also known as exotic bets. In this type of bet, you have to predict correctly the winner of two or more games. The catch of this game is when you fail on predicting the team winner even just once, you will entirely loss your bet. For example, you correctly predicted winners of five games but failed on the six game, you will still loss your parlay or teaser wager.
