Just recently, sports betting sites have received their dream matchup in the 2012 NBA finals. Millions of people especially in the US had flock over sports betting sites to put on their bet at the young team Oklahoma and the veterans team Miami. But no matter what team plays on the NBA finals, statistics show that football is still king. Many people awaits the start of the regular season of college football. And many say that it is going to be a very exciting year.

Let's take a closer look and make some early predictions on some of this year's top games from a betting perspective. These are some serious college football betting odds so you wouldn’t want to miss this.

Alabama OVER 10 Regular Season Wins (-115): My stance on this one is simple. With all the players ‘Bama lost on defense, this team is very likely going to lose a football game this year. I don’t think I’m shocking you with that statement, especially with a schedule that includes trips to LSU, Arkansas, South Carolina and Tennessee, as well as home dates with Florida and Auburn. But really, I don’t see a whole ton of downside to this bet. Alabama has gone undefeated two regular seasons in a row. Even if they lose a game this year, you’re still a winner. If they lose two you get your money back.

Auburn UNDER 8 ½ Regular Season Wins (-105): Look, I get why everyone likes Auburn coming into 2010: They were fun to watch last year. They score a lot points. They’ve got much better depth this season than last. They signed a monster recruiting class in February. They brought Cam Newton in at quarterback, and the upgrade from him to Chris Todd would be like riding around on a Huffy your whole life and then being handed the keys to a Maserati on your 16th birthday. At the same time though, aren’t we all a little too excited about them? I mean, they did lose five of their last seven regular season games to end 2009, and needed a prayer and a miracle to beat Northwestern in the Outback Bowl. And this year, the SEC West is as deep as it's ever been. There are no easy night's in the league, more so in this division.

USC OVER 9 ½ Regular Season Wins (-165): I know that the depth is a big-time issue. I get it. But for all the talk about USC's demise last year, remember, they still got nine wins, with a freshman quarterback and nine new starters on defense. Just as importantly, the schedule breaks nicely for them in 2010 with Notre Dame, Oregon, Cal and Washington all at home.

Iowa OVER 8 ½ Regular Season Wins (-200): I really like Iowa. But I do think they take half a step back this year, mainly because quarterback Ricky Stanzi got himself into and out of more trouble than anyone in college football last year. Yes he went 10-0 in games that he started and finished in 2009, but also threw 15 picks to go along with his 17 touchdown passes. Believe me, I watched those games, and if Stanzi were a cat, he would've had run out of nine lives by about Week 6, and had to take out a loan on a few more to finish the season. Well, the bill is due on that loan, and I think Iowa gets tripped up a few times this year Then again, the schedule is in their favor in 2010, with Penn State, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State at home, so I don’t think they’re a four loss team either. An early season trip to Arizona scares the you-know-what out of me, but I still think they get the win in the desert.

College football is often seen as a sports bettor's paradise for a lot of reasons. One of these is that the college football scene is much larger than the NFL scene. To bring it down to sheer numbers, there are 117 Division IA teams compared to only 32 teams in the NFL. This only means a lot more of games to bet on. But beware, this also means that it is a lot more challenging for bookmakers and sports books to make proper calculations, so errors often creep in.

On top of that, there is a huge talent gap from the top to the bottom and hence it makes things even more complicated. So even though some teams are favored, college football betting lines also work in favor of the underdog or the team that is not favored. In such situations, intelligent and professional bettors can easily make a lot of money from the uncertainty and the general mistakes. The huge gaps and discrepancies between the competing teams make for really high betting lines, much higher than the NFL lines. This makes things even more profitable.

Some of the common rules of proper betting apply while betting on college football games. So first of all, be careful of scams run by fraud websites and touts. These are only there so that you lose you money. There are many ways that a tout and a website can scam you, so beware of them and read up on safe betting habits. Next, you need to start looking at the lines more carefully. You will be given picks by a lot of people including your colleagues, friends and family. Most of them will be wrong but some of them can be right.

So before you make a hasty decision, put in as much research as you can. As mention earlier college football lines are very high because of the large discrepancies in the teams. So researching a team's history and the playing conditions should not be hard. This is especially true if you are at the end of a season. Because by that time, you know how the teams have been performing. At the beginning of the season, it might pay to listen to a few analysts, but try to research nonetheless. Also, if you see someone having a long hot streak, like a 16-11 for example, it might be worth your while follow their picks for the next three plays or so.

Another advantage of college football is that the bookies sometime make mistakes; your job is to spot these and cash in on them. Scattering your college football betting can also ensure that you make some money at the end of the season. This can be done quite easily because of the large number of teams that are playing. Make sure you scatter small bets and not large ones.

While many people love their local professional teams, there is no denying the passion for your alma matter or your favorite school growing up. That is why college leagues are still very popular in every country, especially in the US. College football is one of the most popular sports in the US. The most popular teams throughout the years are the Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas and Penn State.

These teams have huge following and whenever they play thousands of dollars are bet.
College football betting is very interesting and very profitable because of the difference in strength between the different teams, with over 119 teams in division 1 college football upsets are common. In this article, I had try my best to squeeze in the most important things you need to know about college football betting. Read on because this will surely help you win your bets.

College football rules are similar to NFL football betting rules; winners and looser are determined by the final score including overtime if necessary. If a match is suspended before 55 minutes have been completed it is considered "no action" and all bets are refunded.

Betting types most common in college football are; straight wagers with point spread, over under bets on the final score, moneyline wagers and many more exotic bets.
Straight wagers are the simplest way to bet, all that is needed is for you to choose a team to bet on and determine the amount that you want to wager. To win the bet the team on which the bet is placed has to "cover" the spread. The amount needed to cover is predetermined before each bet and will be illustrated by either a "+" or "-" sign. Team that have a "+" rating are considered the underdogs or least likely to win, the amount of the point spread is added to their final score. Teams with a "-" are considered favorites, the amount of the point spread for their wager is deducted from their final score.

Over/Under bets are wagers on the total score of a match. In College football these types of very popular since most college football matches are very high scoring. Betting over/under usually cost $11 for $10 in gain, as such to win $100 a bettor would need to place a $110 bet. If the combined score of a match is equal to the Over/Under bet, the wager is considered a push and bets are returned.

College football is a great sport and thus a great sport to bet on, it offers a very high level of play, with the passion of competitive team sports. Because of the amount of college football teams, college football betting offers much more action then normal professional football betting, this also exposes bookmakers to soft lines that can be exploited by savvy sport bettors. So if you want to bet and win, I suggest you start at college football because your chances of winning are higher here.

For those of you bettors who think that if you know NFL, you also know NCAA football, you are up to a big surprise. There are a lot of differences between NFL and college football. In NFL, sports bettors know that an average point spread is around seven and a huge spread is anything over 11. They also understand that the over/under for most games usually stands between 32 and 40 points. If you're an avid professional football bettor and you're thinking of doing college football betting too, you're sure to notice that point spreads and over/unders tend to be much bigger in the college ranks. There are a few reasons for this and today I will talk about this three factors. All three of these help influence the college football betting spread and over/under of each game.

National Rankings - are determined each week by two separate polls-the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Poll. If a club is favored to win that week and they lose, they can drop in the polls quickly. Additionally, if a team underperforms, they can also lose ground. In the USC-San Jose game, if the Trojans win by just a few points and don't control the contest in the manner that is expected, then voters may start to doubt exactly how good the Trojans are. Thus, unlike in the NFL where a win by one point is as good and counts the same as a blowout, college football teams are expected to exploit their power and talent each and every game. They do this by running up the score, which makes for large point spreads and high over/unders.

Non-conference Versus Conference Play - Each year, college football teams play about four regular season games outside of their conference. This can result in gross mismatches that usually lead to blowouts by the favored team but sometimes end up with an upset by the underdog. As an example, if USC, a national powerhouse in the prestigious Pac-10, plays San Jose State, a team ranked around 100th in the nation and a middling club in the Western Athletic Conference, at the start of the season chances are the superior Trojans will destroy the less talented Spartans. The USC-San Jose match up is a fairly common example of non-conference scheduling. The point spread for this game could be as high as 37 and the over/under might mushroom to 48 points or more with USC expected to score the lion's share of those points.

College Football Scheduling - Along with mismatches in non-conference games, the manner in which the NCAA football schedule is setup offers some challenges to teams and sports bettors alike. First, most non-conference games are played at the start of the season, when teams are still trying to gel. This puts teams from weaker conferences at a disadvantage, especially because the clubs from the top six national conferences-SEC, Big 10, Big 12, Big East, Pac-10 and ACC-tend to have the best talent on the field, finest coaches and best training facilities. The other glitch in the schedule occurs at the end of the regular season and prior to the start of the Bowl season. Bowl bound clubs have a four to six week layoff, which can be both positive and negative. For teams that are hurting, players have a chance to rest up and heal. However, the long interim without any competitive games can result in uneven play come bowl day. Sports bettors need to carefully analyze these aspects of the NCAA schedule, especially when it comes to potential upsets or teams underperforming.

So for all of you who want to do college football betting, you need to keep these differences in mind before putting your cash down on college football. Although it's the same basic game, the differences between NFL and NCAA Football influence point spreads and over/unders, complicating betting choices when switching from the professional to college ranks.

Most sport bettors outside the United States don't know that College Football Betting is one of the biggest football betting markets offered by sports betting sites to their customers. College Football Betting is huge business and the action isn't restricted to just the 14 weeks of regular season college games but sports betting is also available on the Bowl games in December and January when the eyes of a nation tune in to watch the National Championship game.

What really makes college football great is the fact that it might be the highest level of pure sports that a person can watch. The majority of college football players will never be paid for playing football. For most players college football is the highest level of football that they will play. Every year in college football there are a handful of elite players, those players that even a casual fan see are special. Those players are going to play in the NFL, and are simply enjoying the short time they are spending in NCAA football. The rest of the players are playing, more or less, for the love of the game of football.

Do the players get some compensation? Yes, they get a free education. Which for anyone that hasn't looked lately is quite a large chunk of money. Do all the players have a romantic view of playing football, and truly love the game? Of course not. Many players simply look at it as a business, and feel that the NCAA is using them like interchangeable parts in the big business of college football. Yet, there are far too many good players and good stories in college football, and the good outweighs the bad.

There have been stories, and players that have shown what it means to be a collegiate athlete. These are the players who play by the rules of the NCAA, they make themselves better through hard work and sacrifice. These are the coaches and staff that understand that although they might be fired for losing, they accomplished greater things if their players are living honorable productive lives after graduation.

Fans sense what is great about the sport of college football, which is why they support it even in its current flawed and corrupt state. The students see the players walk among them, and although the players are the big men on campus they still have to go to the same classes and face the same challenges of a normal student.

There are players that understand what it means to exemplify what it means to be a student athlete. Eric Weddle, former Utah players, now San Diego Charger, was one of those players. Brandon Gaskins at BYU is currently one of those players. LaVell Edwards is one of the great coaches to pass on the legacy of good Division I football onto another generation, and Ron McBride, head coach of Weber State, is demonstrating he understands the purity of the game.

With College Football Betting, you’ll get more thrice the amounts of teams in NFL and it means thrice the amount of games too. So your chances on winning is more. So what are you waiting for? Bet on college football today and start the fun!

I love watching sports and cheering on my team. But my favorite sport to watch is College Football. NFL is good but college football is way better. No offense, I love NFL too – the dramas, Tim Tebow, the last goal touchdowns. But NFL is just overrated. College football on the other hand is pure entertainment, raw action and traditions that you can witness unfolding right in your very eyes. Here are some more reasons why college football is way better than NFL.

1. The stadiums. Think about all the great NFL stadiums out there - Yeah a bit difficult because there are very few! The Big House, The Horseshoe, Touchdown Jesus, The Swamp, Death Valley, Beaver Stadium at Happy Valley, Rocky Top, The Rose Bowl, The Orange Bowl, etc.

2. More games. This is simple math. There are 32 NFL teams. When you count all NCAA divisions there are almost 1,000 teams! This only means more games and actions to watch. And for bettors, more games to bet on.

3. More creativity. When is the last time a Hook and Ladder play won a game in the NFL? I know it's not a weekly occurrence in the college ranks, but you get the plethora of offensive and defensive play calling in college. Coaches have more room to experiment with their athletes and their playbook.

4. More affordable and accessible. I live in Dayton, OH and I am in one of the better locations relative to NFL teams as I have the Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Detroit Lions all in under about 4 hours of driving distance. That's when I'm in the mood to fork out $75 for a ticket and $8 for a beer. Now, living in Dayton, OH - on any given Saturday I could spend less than $40 and go to any of these campuses: Michigan, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Indiana, any one of ten MAC teams, Notre Dame, Purdue, Louisville, Kentucky, Penn State, etc. I could make that list rather lengthy if I continued. The point is, there is an abundance of college football at my fingertips for less dollar than that of the NFL.

5. The rivalries. You can't tell there are more rivalries in any other sport besides college football. Let's face it - Michigan and Ohio State might be the best rivalry that exists in all of sports. For every loss that takes place, in the back of the losing team's mind, they know that they have to wait for an entire year to avenge that loss. And it stings, pisses people off, you're walking down your street naked after losing a bet, fights break out, friends become enemies, and it goes on and on and on - for 365 days until it's time to suit up for the next game in the series.

6. EVERY game matters. You simply cannot afford to lose a single game or else your national championship hopes take a serious hit. I've seen plenty of playoff bound NFL teams sleepwalk through games. You simply will not see this type of play in the college ranks. The NBA, please, unless you are loyal to a specific team it's almost not worth watching until the playoffs start.

For those of you who are thinking of college football betting, indeed I can say that college football is also better to bet on than NFL. This is because the margins of over/under is quite large and easy to bet. So that is another plus more college football. Everybody who thinks I’m wrong can message me or comment on this article.

When it comes to sports betting, bettors have a preference for their favorite sports to bet, for me, college football betting is my favorite. Statistics also show that many bettors placed college football on their favorite of uppermost part of sports betting favorites. Most bettors even say that they like college football better than NFL.

Some of the reasons are: (1) College football is far more massive than NFL, attracting more gambling enthusiasts with its 117 division teams. (2) College teams have big differences in terms of performances. This makes everything easier for gamblers to determine which team they will lay bets for. Most betting experts are almost certain about which team will make it and which do not deserve putting money on.

Nonetheless, there are still rules bettors must keep an eye on in order to succeed in this endeavor. Let us discuss today how to come up with profitable college football picks. Unlike NFL football picks, college football picks have pretty wide spreads - and for good reason. Since the margin between the best teams and the worst teams can really be a large gap. Unlike in professional football were any team can beat another team any given day of the week.

The spread explained

Spread betting was developed to create a larger market for betting in cases where there is an obvious mismatch between two opponents, commonly known as the favorites vs. the underdogs. But why would anyone in their right mind bet against the favorite? They must be the favorites for a reason. That's where the spread comes in. Instead of picking a straight-up winner or loser, a bettor bets on the point differential or point outcome in a game. Another way to call it is "handicapping." Basically, a point spread is given to the underdog, so that those betting for the underdogs have an even chance of winning. Bookmakers draw the lines for a game's "spread." A spread of 4 means that a favorite needs to win by more than 4 points for a bettor betting on them to win. If in any event the favorite wins by less than 4 points or outright loses, those who bet on the underdogs win instead.

Simple - but the devil is in the details

Seems simple enough eh? However once you take into consideration different factors such as playing condition, match scheduling, team rosters, injuries, coaches, winning or losing streaks, who plays at home and who's visiting, you'll arrive at a much more complicated system of bet.

NCAA college football picks are just like any picks from any sports. You need to study it in order to win it. Watch out for our next articles about college football betting and learn more.

Every year, college football betting is growing more popular than ever! More and more people are getting interested to it, thanks to the huge number of teams and variety of bowls they compete in every year. Although NFL football has more audience nationwide than college football, still, betting on college football is bigger than it because it is said to be “pure”. If you are one of those people who had been a fan on college football and wants to try to bet on college football, then this article is for you. Because today, I am going to teach you how to bet on college football – in each different types of bet. Read on. Spread Betting

A spread bet in college football is a bet in which you attempt to pick the winner of a specific football game. The point spread is a stipulation in which the stronger team must win by a certain number of points for it to be considered a win. Sportsbooks use the point spread in order to make both teams worthy of bets. Sportsbooks usually display college football spreads in the following manner:

Notre Dame +6.5

University of Kansas -6.5

In this game, the University of Kansas is perceived to be the stronger team of the two. As a result, Kansas “gives” 6.5 points to Notre Dame. In other words, Kansas must win by at least one full touchdown for any bets on Kansas to be considered winners. If Kansas loses or only wins by 3 or 6 points, all Kansas bets are lost. Notre Dame is perceived to be the weaker of the two teams so they can either win the game outright or lose by less than a touchdown and all Notre Dame bets will be considered winners.

Money Lines College moneyline bets are also bets on one team or the other to win an upcoming game. But instead of using point spreads to even the betting, sportsbooks use what’s called the “moneyline.” The moneyline determines how much you will be paid if you have a successful bet.

Let’s say that an upcoming game is expected to be fairly lopsided, with one team predicted to dominate the other. The sportsbooks will use the moneyline to make both sides of the bet equally appealing. They do this by offering smaller payouts for the strong team and large payouts for the weak team. A typical college football money line bet is listed in the following format:

Notre Dame +145

University of Kansas -130

Notre Dame is still the underdog in this game so they are given a +145. This means that for every $1.00 you bet on Notre Dame, you’ll win $1.45 if they win. The University of Kansas is still the favorite in this game so they are given a -130. This means that you must wager $1.30 for every $1.00 in winnings.

College Football Totals Totals betting in college football is the same as for any other sport. In this bet, the sportsbook chooses a number and then you try to predict whether the final combined score of both teams will be greater than or less than that number. So if a sportsbook sets the total at 42, you can place a bet on either the “under” or the “over.”

Most sports bettors agree that it’s easier to find advantageous college football betting picks because there are many more games to choose from and many of these games don’t receive a whole lot of attention. This is just one advantage of college football betting amongst other sports. So it’s really a fact that to bet on college football is will give you the best chances of winning. I hope this article help you to get started on college football betting and good luck on your bets!

Years ago, college games were actually much more popular than the professional one. College football and basketball attracted much more friends and media attention than the NFL and NBA games did. Times have changed, but college football remains incredibly popular. The same goes for people betting on college football games. If you are going to do college football betting, you need to be aware of the minor differences in betting style of it versus the NFL games.

1. The most important element to keep in mind is the element of home field advantage. In the National Football League, home field is definitely important as every team fares better at home than on the road. The same holds true for the college game, with home field being even more important. Not many great teams lose home games during the college football season. Every year, the Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants are subject to lose a few home games. In college, the raucous home crowds have a bigger impact than in the NFL games. These crowds intimidate the opposing teams more in the college game than the NFL game. This is partly due to the age and maturity of the players. College players are as young as 18 years old and this group is going to be much more affected by yelling, screaming and cursing fans than a 30 year-old NFL player. So whoever got the home advantage definitely would win.

2. The other major difference between the college game and the professional game is the overtime period. This does not affect betting too much but it is something to keep in mind. In the college game, both teams get the ball from the opposing 25-yard line. The teams keep playing until one team scores and gets a stop. In the NFL game, whoever scores first wins.

3. Another difference is that college football has more teams and games than any other sports. It may not be possible for you to know everything about all the teams in college football that is why it is advisable that you stick with only a handful of teams that you are really very intimate or familiar with. If you have a favorite team then it means you follow them closely that you are always updated on whatever is happening on that particular team. You know their stats, their level of morale and everything else that there is to know about your team. If you have all of this knowledge, it will be easier for you to understand the handicaps or college football lines of the time you're in favor of.

Knowing the differences between college football betting and NFL betting can be the key to your betting success. So don’t forget these three factors and see your winning chances increase.

People are crazy about college football. And college football does have its own massive followers of bettors too. As one of the pack, I made my own list of the tip 5 teams in the college football world today. I would not proclaim myself as an expert bettor (because experts wouldn’t really want to share their picks and secrets with anyone) I’m just a regular bettor who also wins a lot of bet and would like to share this with other people who does college football betting too. Try to use it in your next bet and I’m sure that you your winnings will increase too.

Oklahoma State
Some of the big names may have moved on from Oklahoma State, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything to get excited about in Stillwater this season. Oklahoma State has become one of the most offensively-prolific teams in the nation under Mike “I'm a Man” Gundy, and last season was the ultimate payoff for the legions of orange-clad Cowboys fans. The Pokes were able to pull off yet another impressive offensive display against Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl, winning the program's first-ever BCS bowl on its very first attempt. Watch out on what Oklahoma can do this season because they are definitely one of the teams to put your college football betting on.

Oregon Ducks
The Oregon Ducks have been one of the nation's most consistently successful teams over the past few seasons, winning three straight Pac-12 (formerly Pac-10) titles, and finally breaking through to win the resulting BCS game this past season—the Rose Bowl game. Head coach Chip Kelly has 34 wins already his in very young career, and the Ducks will be going for an unprecedented four-peat this fall.

LSU
Okay, so last season's mistake-filled field goal fest wasn't much fun to watch, and the rematch in the BCS National Championship game wasn't much better. Those two games aside, LSU has been incredibly entertaining and exciting to watch since Les Miles came to town. One obviously doesn't earn the nickname “The Mad Hatter” for putting together bland and boring game plans and making restrained and sober play calls.

Michigan
When Brady Hoke was named head coach for the Wolverines, it was seen as a nod to the past. After all, Hoke is cut from the same cloth as Bo Schembechler and Lloyd Carr. Hoke is intimately familiar with the aura of “Michigan Football,” and knows full well what it means to be a “Michigan Man.” Bo Schembechler's famous quote, “Those who stay will be champions,” is still painted in the Michigan locker room. We all knew Hoke took those words to heart. What we didn't know is that he'd turn those words into reality so quickly. During his first season, Hoke transformed Michigan from that bumbling once-great powerhouse into a team that could beat anybody on any field on any given day. And the result was a Sugar Bowl championship.

Alabama
Nick Saban has proven himself to be one of the best coaches in the game, and he may yet earn a coveted spot in history alongside names like Knute Rockne, Bear Bryant, Bo Schembechler, Woody Hayes, and Joe Paterno. A good part of Saban's success comes from recruiting some of the best players in the nation. And those yearly top recruiting classes have translated into a whole heap of impressive wins.

And all of those wins don't come with a whole heap of excitement. There was last season's nail-biter with LSU in the regular season, the 2010 escape against Arkansas before eventually coming up short against South Carolina, LSU, and Auburn. The 2009 Iron Bowl wasn't a snoozer, either, with Alabama earning a 26-21 victory. Of course, there's also something to be said about the sheer excitement of just waiting to see how many points the Tide will put up next week as they roll over yet another hapless opponent. Again, we'll concede that Alabama isn't always flashy, nor is it constantly a thrill-a-minute. But winning so many games generates its own excitement, and Alabama does that better than any team in the nation right now. They are the best team to put your college football betting on.
