The Denver Nuggets expects to upend the Los Angeles Lakers for the first time in six postseason series as they start their Western Conference quarterfinal series Sunday at Staples Center.

The Lakers take the third seed in the West even if there are several distractions, the most recent is being a seven-game suspension levied on forward Metta World Peace.

He still has six games left to serve. Denver has the capability to push the ball and even limit Kobe Bryant to 17.7 points in the four-game regular-season series.

Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers
When: 3:30 PM ET, Sunday April 29 2012
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California

The Lakers opened as 4.5 point favorites on several online sportsbooks online, this is one of the hottest NBA playoffs betting games that you shouldn’t miss so bet smartly.

Denver Nuggets (38-28)
The speed of Ty Lawson will be the strength of the Denver Nuggets, forwards Danilo Gallinari and Al Harrington could be key in the absence of World Peace. The Nuggets also have a rising rookie that is big enough to shake the Lakers’ inside game. Leading all the rookies when it comes to rebounding is Kenneth Faried (7.7) and the self-title Manimal said he is up to the task. “Kill. We’re not friends. Don’t talk to me,” Faried told the Denver Post of his game strategy.

Los Angeles Lakers (41-25)
The problem with the Los Angeles Lakers is that they lack depth and they have been inconsistent on the road, but Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol have proved too much for the Nuggets in the regular season, where the Lakers won three of four. And there is no clutch player better than Kobe Bryant in the league, he finishes second in scoring and should be well rested despite shin troubles. With World Peace out and Matt Barned nursing a sprained ankle, the Lakers will make use of Devin Ebanks at small forward.

Things to note in this game:
The Nuggets are notoriously famous for scoring 15-0 when scoring at least 60 points in the first half. The Lakers have taken victory 17 out of 21 postseason games against the Nuggets. The advantage of the Lakers in the home-court in the opening round is a 34-2 series record.

There you have all the nitty-gritty details of the game. Hopefully you make a great a NBA playoffs betting decision.

The San Antonio Spurs won the NBA Championship and Gregg Popovich was awarded Coach of the Year. That bodes well for the Spurs, who resume their best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series Wednesday night against the visiting Spurs.

For the second time, Popovich was named Coach of the Year Tuesday after leading the Spurs to 50 regular-season victories. San Antonio earned a convincing 106-91 win over Utah Jazz in the series opener.

The Spurs opened as 11.5 point favorites on several online sports book sites. Check out different lines if you plan on taking part with the NBA playoffs betting.

Utah Jazz
The Jazz are silenced in the opener, surrendering 58 points in the paint while allowing San Antonio to shoot nearly 48% from the field. Al Jefferson, the franchise power forward, said he and his teammates remained upbeat despite the one-sided loss. "Believe it or not, we do walk out with our heads up a little bit," said Jefferson, who finished with 16 points and nine rebounds in his first taste of postseason action since his rookie 2004-05 campaign. "Now let's just go and watch film and learn from our mistake, then get ready for Game 2."

San Antonio Spurs
Remaining humble, Popovich credited much of his achievements with the Spurs to the fortuitous arrivals of franchise centers David Robinson and Tim Duncan. Popovich said “If you can draft Robinson and follow that up with Tim Duncan, that’s a couple of decades of very, very, very possible success unless you just screw it up,” he said. “So it’s hard to take credit when circumstances have gone your way so consistently.” The aging Duncan showed signs of his old self in the series opener, erupting for 17 points and 11 rebounds Tony Parker led the way with 28 points and eight assists.

Take note of these nitty-gritty details when taking part in NBA playoff betting, especially this game:
San Antonio never lost at home to Utah since the date of dropping a 105-98 decision January 20, 2010.

Popovich, earned 77 first-place votes to quickly outdistance runner-up Tom Thibodeau of the Chicago Bulls (27) and Indiana’s Frank Vogel (seven) got the third place.

It was as if Game 2 was a one-man show by Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo is coming back for Game 3 and Atlanta could be without forward Josh Smith when the Boston Celtics host the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

Pierce managed to get 36 points and 14 rebounds in Boston’s 87-80 victory that tied the series on Tuesday, a contest that Rondo missed after he drew a one-game suspension for bumping official Marc Davis in Game 1. Smith strained a left knee tendon in Game 2, resulting in patellar tendinitis. He’s not going to be expected on Game 3.

When: 7:30 PM ET, Friday, May 4, 2012

The Celtics are the favorites on several sports book sites online with 7.5 points. NBA playoffs betting is definitely getting hotter as games progress, don’t forget to take your pick wisely.

Atlanta Hawks The Hawks may have trouble without the presence of Smith, they are also without the help of frontcourt players Al Horford (pectoral) and Zaza Pachulia (foot). Smith is averaging 19 and 15 rebounds in the series and has been the Hawks’ top player over the second half of the season. Larry Drew said “He’s certainly a key component in order for us to have success,”. The Atlanta coach continued “Obviously, we already have both centers out, and now we’re looking at our starting power forward possibly being injured. These types of situations have been happening to us all year. We’ve been kind of snakebit but we’re just hoping for the best.”

Boston Celtics
The Celtics had their revenge as they bounce back from a pathetic Game 1 to register one of the top playoff efforts of Pierce’s stellar career – an impressive feat considering he was a marked man with both Rondo and Ray Allen (guard) out of the lineup. Pierce scored just 12 points in the opener on 5-of-9 shooting. Allen is questionable to play in Game 3. Coach Doc Rivers cited his team’s experience as being a prime factor in why Boston was able to even the series while shorthanded. “We’ve won games this year without some of our key players,” Rivers said “This is a tough-minded basketball team, and having a lot of veterans on your team helps with that.”

Things to note in this game:
The Celtics missed their first 19 3-point attempts in the series and are 3 for 25 overall. Scoring has been tough for both teams – the Hawks are averaging 81.5 points and Boston is at 80.5.

It is not normal for the Los Angeles Clippers to reach the post season, they are included in the playoffs for the first time since 2005-06. They have won just one playoff series in four appearances since moving to Los Angeles for the 1984-85 season but come into this one have set a franchise record for victories this season.

Memphis Grizzlies managed to take the fourth seed with a victory over Orlando in the season finale, has won a franchise-record 11 consecutive home games and is hosting a playoff series for the very first time. Things are looking great for them it seems.

Los Angeles Clippers at Memphis Grizzlies
When: 9:30 PM ET, Sunday April 29, 2012
Where: FedExForum, Memphis, Tennessee

It’s not a surprise that the Grizzlies opened as 5.5-point favorites on several sports book sites but your NBA betting strategy should not be affected too much by this statistic, always remember to shop for the best lines and try visiting different sports book sites, try Sportsbook.com if you are a newbie or add it to your list of new sports book sites if you’re a veteran.

Los Angeles Clippers (40-26)
Chris Paul was sort of a messiah when he came to Los Angeles in the biggest preseason trade in recent memory and he was the major reason why the Clippers ended a six-year playoff drought. The All-Star point guard enters the playoffs with a mild groin strain that kept him out of Friday’s practice.
He insists he will play in the opener. Unfortunately for the Clippers, they will be missing the services of Chauncey Billups because the 15-year veteran had season-ending injury in February for a torn Achilles’ tendon. Blake Griffin on the other hand will play in his first playoff series and will have to fight through Memphis’ big front line.

Memphis Grizzlies (41-25)
This team may not be one of the flashiest teams in the NBA but they perhaps have the best perimeter defense in the league. Let by Tony Allen, Mike Conley and Rudy Gay, the Grizzlies led the league in forced turnovers at 17.1 per game. All-Star Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph will test the Clippers inside. “They want to make every possession a dogfight,” Clippers guard Randy Foye said. “They want to grind it out. They want you to take the shot they want you to take, not the shot that you want to take. That's what makes it tough.”

There you have it and don’t forget to spend your NBA betting money wisely.

The Orlando Magic got a split in Indiana against the Pacers who on the third seed however, their Game 2 performance didn’t give much guarantee that they will take the victory on the first-round series.

The Magic ate the dusts in the second half of the 93-78 loss and they were also outworked to make matters worse. Now the Indiana Pacers can take the lead in the series with a victory in Orlando on Wednesday. The Pacers have held the sixth-seeded Magic below 40 percent from the field in both games.

The Pacers opened as 3-point favorites on several online sports book sites. NBA betting requires skills of being good with researches and don’t forget to compare lines from different sports book sites.

Indiana Pacers
Starting guards George Hill (18 points) and Paul George (17 points) combined to make 13 of 20 shots in Game 2 while thoroughly outplaying Orlando’s backcourt. Forwards David West and Danny Granger managed to score 18 points each but Granger had his second consecutive poor shooting game – he’s half when they had a 26-1 rebounding edge. Granger said “This time of year, games are a lot harder.” He continued “Everybody’s playing twice as hard. You have to be the team with the most resolve, the team just playing with the most attitude to try to get the win.”

Orlando Magic
The Magic has an average of just 79.5 points in the series with a high game of 81. The loss of center Dwight Howard for the series has thrust Glen Davis into a leading role and that has produced mixed results. Davis is averaging 17 points and 11.5 on rebounds but he is shooting just 36.1 percent and vanished in the second half of Game 2. Ryan Anderson (F) has experienced back-to-back poor games, his average is only eight points after making the most 3-pointers (166) in the league in the regular season. “We’re going to have to be better offensively,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said “I’m going to have to find something that works.”

Things to take note on this game before beginning with NBA betting:
Orlando Magic only managed to score 64 second-half points in the two games at Indiana. The Pacers shot 89.3 percent (25 for 28) from the free-throw line in Game 2 after hitting just 13 of 22 attempts in the opener.

The Dallas Mavericks have taken two chances to steal home-court advantage – and potentially two wins – from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Suffice enough to put the reigning NBA champions in a must-win position to avoid moving to the brink of elimination as the first-round series shift to Dallas for Game 3 on Thursday night.

In his team’s precarious position, Mavericks guard Jason Terry said “Game 3 is Game 7”. Dallas was able to lead inside the final minute in each game only to come up empty.

The Mavericks opened as 3-point favorites on several sports book sites online. NBA Betting is getting hotter and people are definitely putting their bets in, before that – know your pick.

Oklahoma City Thunder
Oklahoma City must feel gorgeous for holding a 2-0 series lead even when Kevin Durant had shooting woes, the league’s three-time scoring champion. Durant went 15 of 44 in the two games, but he buried the game-winning jumper in Game 1 and hit the go-ahead free throws in Game 2. The Thunder got unexpected offensive contributions from starting center Kendrick Perkins and backup point guard Derek Fisher, who scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, in Game 2 after both were held off the scoresheet in the series opener. It was recorded as the highest offensive output for Perkins since March 25.

Dallas Mavericks
The Thunder fell for Dallas in five games last season, helped by a pair of fourth-quarter comebacks, but it was unable to close the deal in Oklahoma City. Dallas has depended heavily on their outside shooting, launching 45 3-point attempts in the first two games and converting only five of 23 attempts in Game 2. Point guard Jason Kidd has hoisted up a team-high 12 in the series, making just three, and is 4 of 18 overall from the floor. Dirk Nowitzki may need to conjure up his tricks of last season, when he burned the Thunder for a pair of 40-point outings.

Note:
The Thunder has won five of six games against the Mavericks this season. The margin of victory has been four points or fewer in four of the victories, very close. Kidd Managed to reach a postseason milestone with 1,000 points, 1,000 assists and 1,000 rebounds.

On the first half, the Chicago Bulls were doing fine however, things fell apart. The Philadelphia 76ers blitzed past the Bulls in the second half on Tuesday, taking it away with Game 2 and ending the game at peace.
Philadelphia burned Chicago’s league-best defense, shooting 59% from the field. The series now returns to Philadelphia, where the 76ers have lost four straight to end the regular season.

The 76ers have taken the favorite position with 1.5 points on several online sports book sites. NBA betting today gets more exciting. More and more people are joining in to bet, don’t be the last to join NBA Betting today. Take your pick.

Chicago Bulls
Chicago went 18-9 without the services of Derrick Rose during the regular season and was confident going into Game 2. The Bulls held a 55-47 lead at the half before collapsing in the third quarter in a 109-92 loss. C.J. Watson and John Lucas III combined for 27 points and seven assists in Rose’s spot but the defense could not contain anyone. The 59% shooting that the Bulls ever allowed was highest mark surrendered since Tom Thibodeau took over as head coach prior to the 2010-11 season.
Joakim Noah was given the spotlight in Game 2, managing to score 21 points on 10-of-11 shooting, but Luol Deng and Carlos Boozer both struggled on the interior as the Bulls were outscored 52-32 in the paint.

Philadelphia 76ers
The smart thing to do was take advantage of Rose’s absence, which the 76ers didn’t pass up. Their offensive were great and PG Jrue Holiday didn’t have so much trouble navigating Rose’s replacement en route to 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting. The 76ers put six players in double figures and got strong performances from Evan Turner and Lou Williams. Philadelphia played 10 of its final 14 regular season games on the road and started the playoffs in Chicago, so the atmoshphere at the Wells Fargo Center should be on the brighter welcome change of pace. The 76ers finished 19-14 at home during the regular season despite the April stumble.

Things to take note in this game:
The top rebounding team (Chicago Bulls) in the NBA during the season, was beaten on the boards, 38-32, in Game 2.
The 76ers switched their lineup in Game 2, having Turner and Spencer Hawes into the starting five.

The Memphis Grizzlies, having lost home-court advantage will attempt for redemption after blowing a huge lead in the series opener against the Los Angeles Clippers. Memphis don’t have the luxury to fall into a 2-0 hole when it hosts the Grizzlies on Wednesday night in Game 2 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series.

The Grizzlies growled their way to lead as many as 27 points and entered the fourth quarter with a 21-point cushion, tying a playoff record for the largest blown lead in the postseason.

Los Angeles Clippers
Caron Butler has been out for four to six weeks due to a broken hand, the event had underscored the importance of getting reserve swingman Nick Young in a midseason trade with the Washington Wizards. Young was sensational down the stretch in Game 1, burying three 3-pointers in a 60 second span and finishing with a team-high 19 points. That matched his season-high output since joining the Clippers. Los Angeles head coach Vinny Del Negro said he may start veteran Bobby Simmons in place of Butler and keep Young in his role as sixth man.

Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies played like gladiators for three quarters before the fall and must now overcome the emotional wreckage of a loss that center Marc Gasol admitted was “heart breaking.” Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins made a somewhat curious choice to start Zach Randolph, who came off the bench in 20 f the final 24 games after missing 2 ½ months with a torn medial collateral ligament.
Last season’s playoff hero, Randolph only managed to score six points on 3-of-13 shooting. Memphis went 37-17 with Marreese Speighs in the starting lineup and 23-14 while Randolph was left on the sides. With Randolph on a reserve post, the bench averaged a shade over 36 points per game.

Things to take note before you bet on NBA with this game:
PG Chris Paul led the Clippers and they had a league-high 14 regular-season wins when trailing by at least 10 points.
The Grizzlies dropped three of four meetings with the Clippers this season and had its 11 game home winning streak snapped.

Things aren’t looking great with the Chicago Bulls, with just 1:10 left in Game 1, reigning MVP Derrick Rose planted on the wrong foot and had to be carried off the court.

The MRI report showed that there was a torn anterior cruciate ligament, knocking Rose out for the rest of the postseason. The Philadelphia 76ers are in a position to take advantage if they can find a way though the Bulls’ suffocating defense.

The Bulls is welcomed with 6-point favorites on several online sports book sites. Bet on NBA today and get great deals from Sportsbook.com – the largest and longest running sports book site.

Philadelphia 76ers
Philadelphia was definitely outplayed in their previous game, only managing to shoot under 40% percent from the field while letting the Bulls go off at 51 percent. The 76ers were a sub-.500 team the second half of the season, going 16-22 after February 13. Where Philadelphia excelled during the regular season was on the defensive end, and without Rose on the floor, it will need to focus attention on Luol Deng and Richard Hamilton. The 76ers were outrebounded, 47-38, in Game 1, when rookie Lavoy Allen started at center and Spencer Hawes played only 15 minutes off the bench.

Chicago Bulls
The Bulls went 18-9 even without the services of Rose during the regular season and is confident that it has the defense and secondary scoring to survive without their star deep into the playoffs. Splitting the point guard duties will be C.J. Watson and John Lucas III. The two players shoot just under 40 percent from beyond the arc and will need to keep that up in order to prevent the 76ers from collapsing on Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah on the interior.
One of the highlights from Game 1 came from Hamilton, who went 6 for 7 from the floor and finished with 19 points. Hamilton has an average of 20.6 points in 120 career playoff games with the Detroit Pistons and will handle more of the scoring going forward.
