It gives me those weekly exciting feelings from late August until December. College football has the greatest—and most meaningful—regular season in sports, and it shows. The players play their hearts out every Saturday, and the fans are the beneficiaries of a terrific three-plus month of non-stop action.

College football betting is also one of the most beloved past time in the United States, in fact, there comes a time that it is most famous than NFL or any other sports. And today, I’ve got a treat for all you punters out there. I had made a list of the most exciting teams in the college league today. These teams are not basically the best, but they are indeed exciting and entertaining. And watch out, because these teams know how to surprise the audience and they might just be the key for you to win that huge cash prize (because everybody might just be betting on the obvious team and these exciting teams can win them over).

Whether you will use them on your next college football betting, I’m sure you will have a good time watching them. Here’s my list.

Notre Dame - We'll start with the team everyone loves—or loves to hate—Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish haven't been their old selves for what seems like an eternity now, but Notre Dame is still one of the four winningest programs in the history of college football with 845 victories (behind Michigan, 895; Yale, 863; and Texas, 849). But these days, even when Notre Dame comes up short, you have to admit that it does so in spectacularly entertaining fashion. Just as one (of many) examples, take the 2011 contest against Michigan in Ann Arbor. The thrill-a-minute game under the lights at Michigan Stadium was easily one of the most entertaining games of the entire year—even though Notre Dame lost. And then there's the fiery head coach Brian Kelly, who's always good for a quote or two—especially if Notre Dame is trailing (or just lost).

Auburn Tigers – The tigers sure like to make things interesting, don't they? After Cam Newton left following the Tigers' national championship after 2010, everyone left Auburn for dead. And through much of their Week 1 game against lowly Utah State in 2011, the Tigers looked like a down and out team, just like we all expected. But through some amazing late-game theatrics, the Tigers found a way to win. And then did the same the following week against then-No. 16 Mississippi State. And while losses to Clemson, Arkansas, LSU, Georgia, and Alabama followed, Auburn sure put on quite a show all season long, en route to an 8-5 finish—including a Chick-fil-A Bowl victory over Virginia. So where do the Tigers go from here? Watch Out!

Boise State - It doesn't matter where you live or what team you consider your favorite, you can't escape the fact that over the past six seasons, Boise State has easily been one of the most entertaining and exciting football teams in the entire college football season. From their 2007 Fiesta Bowl overtime thriller against Oklahoma to their punch-for-punch game against TCU in the 2007 Poinsettia Bowl to another Fiesta Bowl victory (over TCU) in 2010, the Broncos have consistently shown that they deserve every consideration as a top program.

Virginia - You can sum up Virginia Tech's style of football in one unconventional word: Beamerball. Head coach Frank Beamer has certainly tossed the idea of the offense scoring all of the points right out the window. Since taking over the Hokies program in 1987, a touchdown has been scored by every a player at every position on defense. All of this while playing an at times unconventional style of football. Sure, Virginia Tech has just three returning offensive starters from 2011, but that just means we'll likely see even more Beamerball out of the Hokies in 2012. Now who doesn't want to watch that?

Michigan State - This isn't your grandfather's MSU. The Spartans have been on a bit of a tear lately, winning more games in the past two seasons (22) than any other Big Ten program, save for Wisconsin (which also has 22 wins). Michigan State has also beaten Wisconsin during the regular season in back-to-back years, although Sparty did fall just short against the Badgers in the 2011 Big Ten Championship game. Michigan State is now a perennial contender in the Big Ten, and Dantonio's Spartans have been winning with flair these past few seasons. MSU dug up some great drama during its 2011 showdown with Wisconsin in East Lansing. After giving up a seemingly safe fourth quarter lead, Michigan State had the ball near midfield with just a few seconds remaining. Rather than safely taking a knee and going to overtime, Dantonio drew up another historic Michigan State play. The resulting Hail Mary pass was caught right at the goal line, and it took the officials a few minutes to review it. But in the end, it was another amazing, last-play victory for MSU.

To put your college football betting on these teams might be a risk because these top exciting teams doesn’t mean they are the strongest. But I like to bet on these kind of team because they produce the most winnings for me. So take a chance on these exciting teams and make the game much more exciting.

On Monday, Kevin Youkilis played third base and managed to bat second for the Chicago White Sox. He managed to go 1-for-4 in his first game since being acquired from the Boston Red Sox. With his first hit out of the way, Youkilis will look for his first victory with Chicago on Tuesday when heading against the Minnesota Twins. The White Sox lost 4-1 in the series opener, but they’re still a half-game ahead Cleveland in the American League Central. Chicago, Which has scored one or less runs in five of its last eight games, moved second baseman Gordon Beckham to the No. 9 spot in the lineup upon Youkilis’ arrival.

Matt Capps has been placed by the Twins on the 15-day disabled list Monday with right shoulder inflammation, and he’s not expected to begin a rehab assignment until the All-Star break. Jared Burton has recorded saves in each of the past two games, and he’ll share the closer’s role with Glen Perkins while Capps is out. Minnesota, which has won three of its last four games, improved to 12-10 in June with Monday’s win.

Pitching Match Up: Twins RH Hendriks (0-4, 7.39 ERA) VS White Sox RH Gavin Floyd (5-7, 5.20 ERA)

Hendriks stayed in the winless phase after giving up six runs – three earned – with three strikeouts over five innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates last Thursday. For the record, he has 1.94 ERA in seven starts for Triple-A Rochester this season, but he’s struggled in six starts with the Twins, allowing nine home runs in just 28 innings.

After going 0-2 with a 8.4 ERA over his previous three starts, Floyd tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings last Wednesday against the Cubs for his first win since May 27. On May 22, it was a struggle in a start against Minnesota, surrendering nine runs over 3 2/3 innings.

Take note of these:

• The Twins are 26-12 against the White Sox at home since September 23, 2007. • Adam dunn DH of White Sox went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts on Monday, upping his total for the season

If you are looking to do sports betting on the Arizona Diamondback or the Altanta Braves, then check out the recall of their game that happened last June. Check out our expert sports analyst points of the game that will surely help you win in your sports bet. Opening a 10-game homestand Tuesday night is the Atlanta Braves, having dropped six of their previous seven at Turner Field. The Atlanta Braves began their continued stay at home in fine fashion, letting the Arizona eat the dust 8-1 to end the Diamondbacks’ four-game winning streak. The win improved Atlanta’s home record to 16-17, and playing better at home is a must if the Braves are going to stay in the NL East race. Arizona Diamondbacks gets shortstop Stephen Drew back on Wednesday. Due to a broken ankle, Drew has been out since July.

Another injury presses concern for the Diamondbacks, Daniel Hudson left Tuesday’s start after 1 2/3 innings due to a tightness in his right forearm. Hudson was not able to go for a month this season with a shoulder injury. The ball is now given to Trevor Cahill by Arizona, he has won his past four starts. The Braves will start Tommy Hanson, who along with Hudson must shoulder the load at the top of the Atlanta rotation with the season-ending elbow injury to Brandon Beachy.

Arizona Diamondbacks at Atlanta Braves When: 7:10 PM ET, Wednesday, June 27, 2012 Where: Turner Field, Atlanta, Georgia

Pitching Match Up: Arizona RH Trevor Cahill (6-5, 3.47 ERA) VS Atlanta RH Tommy Hanson (8-4, 3. 54 ERA) The great thing about Cahill is that he’s still unbeaten since May 28, allowing eight earned runs in his past 29 1/3 innings with eight walks and 25 strikeouts. The right-hander didn’t pitch well his last time out, giving up six earned runs in six innings against Seattle but nonetheless earning the victory. Hanson has won three of his past four starts, going 3-0 with eight earned runs allowed 25 1/3 innings. On June 20, Hanson took victory from the Yankees, striking out five and allowing four earned runs in five innings.

Things to take note in this game before sports betting: • Atlanta’s Dan Uggla remained mired in a long slump. The Braves’ second baseman is hitting. 118 (7-for-59) in his past 18 games with just one homer, five RBIs and 24 strikeouts. • The Diamondbacks will promote top pitching prospect Trevor Bauer to make his major-league debut in Thursday’s series finale. • Atlanta moved hot-hitting Jason Heyward to the second spot in the lineup Tuesday. Heyward went 2-for-4, extending his hitting streak to 11 games. He is batting .487 during hitting streak.

The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be struggling because their starting pitching staff has been plagued with injuries, perhaps the only bright light shining for the team is that ace left-hander Ricky Romero is the last man pitching. The Blue Jays could use a big effort from Romero when they face the Boston Red Sox in the rubber game Wednesday at Fenway Park. Toronto got a great performance from Aaron Laffey on Tuesday night, only to see the bullpen collapse and drop the Blue Jays into the cellar of the American League East.

It’s not just the Blue Jays who were plagued with injuris, the Boston Red Sox, which managed to move one game ahead of Toronto and trail the New York Yankees by 6 ½ games, now is trying to survive its own spate of injuries. Winners of 10 of 13, the Red Sox can move a season-high five games above .500 with a victory in the series finale.

Lefty Jon Lester will match with Romero for the second time this season. Romero limited the Red Sox to one run on three hits in a season-high 8 1/3 innings on April 11.

Pitching Match Up: Blue Jays LH Ricky Romero (8-1, 4.34 ERA) VS Red Sox LH Jon Lester (4-5, 4.48 ERA)

Romero hasn’t pitched that would mirror his records, even though he’s unbeaten (3-0) in his last starts. He has allowed at least four runs in six consecutive starts and continues to be plagued by the long ball, surrendering seven home runs in his last five starts. During his unbeaten stretch, the Blue Jays have piled up 65 runs – an average of just over nine per game. Romero is 5-6 with a 6.45 ERA in 14 starts vs. Boston.

On the other pitching hand, Lester’s records mirrored his performance well. He’s only one win in his last six starts and has allowed fewer than three runs just three times in 15 outings. He continues to struggle at home, winning just once in his last five outings, and is 1-3 in eight starts at Fenway Park. He has 34 strikeouts against only five walks in his last five starts but hasn’t gone past seven innings. Lester is 10-5 with a 3.08 ERA against Toronto.

A lot of newcomers in the sports betting arena have been committing costly basic errors which lessen their profits and give them huge losses. This leads to a lot of them playing it safe: They just try their luck by betting small amounts of money, not overly worried if they win or not.

However, there is no harm in learning a few tricks and simple safeguards which could spell the difference between winning big and losing a month’s worth of rent. Not only the beginners, but more experienced bettors should also follow these simple guidelines to follow in sports betting.

• Do not place competing bets, making you bet against yourself in one event. This means betting on two players who are going against each other in one event. This way, you are not guaranteeing a big one, but subjecting yourself to a sure los.

• Stay away from betting on long-odds glamour bets, which have huge chances of not happening. An example is getting the correct score and the first scorer double bet. This happening is very unlikely, and prices offered on this are considerably smaller than the probability of a positive outcome.

• Do not bet on the first price you see at your regular sportsbook. You should shop around and check other online sportsbooks that offer wildly contrasting odds on sporting events. There are huge opportunities to profit big by choosing the right odds at the right time. You can use an odds comparison website to know which sportsbook offers the best odds and payout on the even you’re interested to bet on.

• Don’t be tempted to bet on the team or player you support just because of you’re a fan. This is one of the sure ways to bleed cash. Be smart and trust the result of your research. Bet on the most likely outcome, and not because of your allegiance to your favorite team or player.

• Avoid following betting trends, unless you have good reason. A lot of beginners, especially those betting on horse races, jump on bandwagons when they see a horse’s price has been drastically shortened. This may be due to an unfounded rumor which is making other bettors think they should get on the bandwagon too. Do not join them—you’ll just be taking on a price that’s worse than that you could have bet on earlier in the day. Let it go and just be smug about it, knowing that you’re not as foolish as those other bettors who just follow the herd.

These are just a few of the basics. Know everything that there is to know before betting. Keep in mind that its basics before betting, and probability before price. And for the best online betting service, sign up and play on Sportsbook.com. This is one of the longest-running and most trustworthy online sportsbooks to put your money on, and the best service to use in improving your skills and boost your profits.

The Houston Astros will try to secure their second straight series win Thursday when they host the San Diego Padres in the finale of their four-game set. Houston, which took three from Cleveland last weekend, posted its second consecutive win over San Diego on Wednesday after dropping the series opener in 10 innings, Lucas Harrell tossed a six-hit shutout and Matt Downs belted a solo homer as the Astros improved to 5-4 on their 10-game homestand.

Despite registering just one run on Wednesday, Houston has scored a total of 28 over its last five games after crossing the plate only once in its previous three contests. San Diego, which was shut out for the seventh time this year, fell to 1-2 on its 10-game road trip. The Padres have dropped eight of their last 12 overall contests.

Pitching Match Up: Padres RH Andrew Cashner (3-3, 3.81 ERA) vs Astros LH Dallas Keuchel (1-0, 1.29 ERA)
It will be Cashner’s second start of the season and the third of his career. Now at the age of 25, he has worked 2 1/3 innings at Milwaukee on June 9, allowing one run and two hits while walking two and striking out five. Cashner was sent to Double-A San Antonio after that start and went 2-0 with a 1.88 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings in three outings.

Keuchel also will be starting for the third time in the major leagues. The 24-year-old made his debut at Texas on June 17, when he yielded one run and four hits over five innings. He followed with a superb outing in a win over Cleveland on Saturday, surrendering one run and six hits en route to his first complete game – and Houston’s first of the season.

Bet on Baseball with these Tips:
• Yander Alonso (San Diego 1B) was in the starting lineup for the first time in four games and collected two of his team’s six hits. Alonso had been out with a sore left knee.
• Astros’ starting pitchers have posted a 2.06 ERA over the last nine games.

The Boston Red Sox and David Ortiz are known to be on a tear right now, racing their way out of the basement and up the standings in the American League East. Ortiz went 5-for-8 with three homers and eight runs scored in the just-completed three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Seattle Mariners, who have dropped five of seven, don’t have anyone that has displayed the ability to provide that kind of production.

Seattle pitchers only allowed two hits on Wednesday, both just happened to be solo home runs in a 2-1 setback. The Mariners have yielded an average of 1.6 runs over the last five games but are just 2-3 in that span thanks to a struggling offense. Seattle’s hitters are considerably bad at home, batting .202 and averaging only 2.9 runst at Safeco Field, where the team has posted a 13-21 record.

The Red Sox own the second-best road batting average in the AL and have won five straight series, improving to a season-high five games over .500.

Pitching Match Up: Red Sox LH Franklin Morales (1-1, 3.12 ERA) vs Mariners RH Felix Hernandez (5-5, 3.36 ERA)
This is Morales’ third straight start for the Red Sox after entering the rotation as an injury substitute. The left-hander picked up a win from Atlanta last Saturday and has recorded 17 strikeouts in 11 total innings over his two starts. Morales have made three relief appearances against Seattle, getting knocked around for three runs and four hits in two innings.

Hernandez has gone seven innings while allowing one run in each of his last two starts. He has 17 strikeouts and two walks in that span. The 26-year old has defeated San Diego last Saturday to snap a four-start winless streak. Hernandez is 5-2 with a 3.55 ERA in 11 career starts against the Red Sox.

Things to take note:
• Kevin Milwood of the Mariners (RHP) left Wednesday’s game after 2 1/3 innings, cutting the team’s string of four straight quality starts.
• Hitting his 399th career home run on Wednesday, Ortiz is 6-for-23 (.261) with one career homer against Hernandez.

Could it get any worse for the Dodgers? RF Andre Ethier left Wednesday’s game in the first inning due to a left oblique strain. It was a fitting end to the Dodgers’ 1-8 road trip, which left them tied with San Francisco for first in the NL West. Los Angeles Dodgers was shut out for the third straight game by the Giants on Wednesday, and they’ve lost 10 of their last 13 games. Ethier will have an MRI on Thursday, when he’s expected to join fellow starters Matt Kemp, Mark Ellis and Ted Lilly on the disabled list.

The Dodgers unfortunately haven’t scored a run in 30 innings, the New York Mets exploded for 17 in a rout of the Cubs on Wednesday to snap a four-game losing streak. After a terrible start, 1B Ike Davis has raised his average over .200 for the first time this season after going 18-for-51 (.353) with five home runs and 20 RBI in his last 16 games. Mets 2B Daniel Murphy had two home runs on Wednesday, breaking a homerless streak of 352 at-bats dating back to last season.

Pitching Match Up: Mets RH Chris Young (1-1, 3.42 ERA) vs Dodgers LH Chris Capuano (9-2, 2.60)
In any of four starts, he has not allowed more than three runs since returning from a shoulder surgery, and he pitched a solid six innings against the Yankees in his last outing. He’s 2-5 with a 4.02 ERA in 14 career starts against the Dodgers, including 1-4 with a 5.40 ERA in nine starts at Dodger Stadium

Capuano on the other hand has been nothing but a pleasant surprise for the Dodgers, recording the most wins and lowest ERA he has ever had through his first 15 games of a major league season. He held the Angels to one run over seven innings in his last start. Capuano has a 6.35 ERA in five career starts against the Mets.

Things to take note of:
• Ellis is seen to start a rehab assignment Saturday in Class-A Rancho Cucamonga.
• The Dodgers are nine games into a stretch of 20 games in 20 days leading up to the All-Star break.
